KSI wins controversial split decision in battle of Youtubers

KSI W6 Logan Paul... In a rematch between two social media stars (and major bragging rights), Olajide Olatunji a/k/a KSI got knocked down but won a controversial split decision. In a surprisingly entertaining contest, both men gave honest efforts despite no prior professional boxing experience. KSI was declared the winner by split decision. He threw wild punches and was the busier man in this cruiserweight battle, but Paul landed the best punch of the six rounder. In round three, KSI seemed to drop Paul with an overhand right but referee Jack Reiss said the punch was behind the head, therefore it was not scored as a knockdown. In round four, Paul landed a big uppercut and KSI went down. Reiss, normally a top referee, had a bad night, penalizing Paul two points for a boderline foul-- Reiss felt Paul also landed a punch behind the head as KSI was on the canvas. Scores were 56-55 for Paul, overruled by 57-54 and 56-55 for KSI. A one-point penalty would have made the fight a draw, and no penalty would have made it a victory for Paul. However, KSI should have received credit for a knockdown in round three, so Boxingtalk believes the best verdict would have been a draw. Afterwards, Paul said he'd be up for a trilogy fight [they previously fought to a draw as amateurs], but KSI dashed that prospect quickly. source: dazn
