Undefeated Brooklynite expecting huge 2020
Greg Leon: Congrats on last month's victory over Hayron Santiago [6-6-1]. Can you give us some thoughts on your performance? Jude Franklin: "Thank you. I think it was a decent performance. It felt good to be back in the ring and I'm just thankful that I had a fight. A lot of people don't know this, but my original opponent fell through like the week before the fight and that became a stressful situation because I obviously want to fight and then on top of that I had sold a lot of tickets and I really didn't want to have to give all those people their money back. As for the fight though I'm glad I was able to get some rounds in, Santiago was a tough guy like I knew he would be. There's some things I need to work on that will be better next time, I just want to stay active now. I need to stay active."
GL: Any idea when your next fight might take place?
Jude Franklin: "Very early next year is what it's looking like. I was trying to get another one in before the end of the year, but now it's looking more like it's going to be sometime in January or February the latest."
GL: You said there's some things you need to work on, can you elaborate on that?
JF: "It's just everything really, I'm trying to become a better all around fighter period, but I want to make sure I punch in combination more because good things happen when I let my hands go."
GL: What are your goals for 2020?
JF: "To win every fight I'm in and hopefully get some national TV time on Shobox or something like that, I think that would be big for me."
GL: How many times do you plan on fighting next year?
JF: "At least four hopefully, but I leave that to my team. I got great people behind me with DiBella Entertainment and my manager and trainer Elmo Serrano."
GL: Closing thoughts.
JF: "I want to thank you for reaching out for the interview, I want to thank my fans for all of their support. 2020 is going to be a big year so stay tuned!"
